Polypropylene (PP)

Polypropylene, or PP, is one of the world's most common plastics. It arrives as tiny pellets ('resin') and, in the furnishings trade, is melted and spun into BCF carpet yarn, extruded into olefin upholstery fabric, turned into the nonwovens inside cushions and mattresses, and moulded into furniture parts. Because PP is made from oil and gas, its price tracks crude, naphtha and propylene. Traded under HS code 3902.10.
