Naphtha

Naphtha is a liquid refined from crude oil that petrochemical plants 'crack' into building blocks like propylene. It is a major cost input for polypropylene, so naphtha prices (often quoted CFR Japan) are watched as an early signal of where PP resin — and therefore carpet yarn — is heading.
